With a different theme every month, the Museum's "small-steps" visits offer thirty minutes of family fun time for parents with children from age 3.

Discover the history, the building, the architecture, the majestic stairways and the hidden gems of the Museum of Art and History in the heart of Geneva old town.

Every month, the Museum offers a different theme and multiple exhibitions – there is always something for everyone.

Once inside, take your time – be curious, and let yourself be carried away by the charming little stories and nursery rhymes that the Museum has to offer.

Family moment at the Museum of Art and History

You can discover the exhibition “Châteaux forts et Chevaliers en famille”, with guided tours especially designed for parents and children from 6 years old.

'The dragon who wanted to become a knight'

In the activity, children are invited to immerse themselves in the chivalrous universe of the Middle Ages. Accompany Drago the dragon through different stages of life in becoming a knight via the Geologix app on your smartphone. The app is free to download, available on both iOS and Android.

Opening hours: Tuesday to Sunday from 11am to 6pm. Closed Mondays.

Public transportation: Bus 7 (stop Musée d'Art et d'histoire), bus 36 (stop Saint-Antoine)

Entry fee: the museum is free entry. Temporary exhibitions cost between 5 to 18chf, but it's free for children under 18 and for every 1st Sunday of the month.

Aniko Janka is a specialist in marketing and sales with a diploma from SAWI in Lausanne and decades of experience in broadcast media, press writing and marketing. Her past collaborations included RTS (Radio Télévision Suisse), FIAT and Cadbury, just to name a few. A true epicurean whose motto is "Carpe Diem", Aniko also enjoys cinema and photography.
